Andrés Waissman nace e Buenos Aires en 1955 de padres judíos. Comenzó a exponer muy tempranamente a mediados de los 70. En 1974, trabajó con Augusto Torres en Barcelona y en 1978 y con Antonio Seguí en París. En 1984, se radica en San Francisco, donde trabajó en el Consulado Argentino, organizando eventos culturales en representación de Argentina y desde donde desarrolla una carrera internacional exponiendo en diferentes galerías y museos de Los Ángeles, San Francisco, Nueva York. Regresó a Buenos Aires y dirigía el programa de TV Styles, dedicado a rescatar los valores culturales. En 2005 se publicó el libro WAISSMAN. En 2010, se presenta en MALBA, el documental Waissman, PBS de EEUU. Desde 2012, participa e integra el equipo docente en un Programa Anual de Encuentros de Análisis, Crítica y Producción de Arte. Su arte muestra indirectamente la temática judía.

Andrés Waissman was born in Buenos Aires in 1955 of Jewish parents. He began to exhibit very early in the mid-1970s. In 1974, he worked with Augusto Torres in Barcelona and in 1978 and with Antonio Seguí in Paris. In 1984, he settled in San Francisco, where he worked at the Argentine Consulate, organizing cultural events on behalf of Argentina and from where he developed an international career exhibiting in different galleries and museums in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York. He returned to Buenos Aires and directed the TV program Styles, dedicated to rescuing cultural values. In 2005 the book WAISSMAN was published. In 2010, it is presented in MALBA, the documentary Waissman, PBS of the USA. Since 2012, he participates and integrates the teaching team in an Annual Program of Art Analysis, Criticism and Production Encounters. His work often hints at Jewish themes.
